When I was introduced to digital media, I imagined what it would be like to combine gaming, new media, interaction design, culture and humanities.And so came this documentary titled "Cherishing Family Heritage: A Journey Through Generations"
I closely focus on acquiring cutting-edged visual tools that benefit my visual content creation. In conventional participatory documentaries, the filmmaker is often portrayed as the protagonist, promoting certain ideologies to the audience. However, in my documentary titled "Cherishing Family Heritage: A Journey Through Generations," I opted for a different approach. I employed Augmented Reality (AR) as a novel form of observational documentary to recreate the historical development of a prosperous and prominent family. Follow the perspectives of the video's protagonists, father and daughter, as they enter the He Yuan and experience the scenery and emotions.This allowed viewers to establish connection with the story and form their own conclusions about the essence of the past era and its relevance to the present.
